George IV Gay Friendly Guest House
Regency Square, Brighton

George IV is an elegant period townhouse providing fantastic sea views across one of Brighton's finest squares. The furnishings and decor are impeccable and do great justice to this building and its fine heritage with many of the spacious and elegant bedrooms and in particular the balcony room having stunning views across the magnificent Regency Square to the ocean beyond. All of the bedrooms are beautifully presented and are equipped with TV DVD, (sea view rooms have Freeview and flat screen TV) and  generous hospitality trays. The real stars here are Sue and Steve, a period twosome who between them provide an incredibly fun, friendly and informal atmosphere and all three of them are in central Brighton - near to boutique shops, the Lanes, Brighton's vibrant gay night life and directly opposite the ever-interesting West Pier. The lounge features a magnificent 1950s jukebox which you are welcome to play at no charge if the mood takes you. Finally, there's both a PC and Wi-Fi in reception if you want to catch up on emails. What a fabulously friendly and sometimes mad place to stay!  Sue and Steve: you guys are such fun; don't ever change!

Royal Pavilion Townhouse Gay Owned and Run Hotel
Regency Square, Brighton, East Sussex

www.rpthotel.co.uk

A handsome period Grade II listed townhouse in the heart of Brighton. Nothing new there, I hear you say, but once inside you realise just how unique this hotel is. It is home to eight  magnificent bedrooms, all of which are hand-painted and themed in the Royal Pavilion style. They are simply stunning: unashamed luxury featuring four poster and canopied beds, with bathrooms that are just temples to modernity. The eye is drawn constantly to the astonishing detail and finish that Tom and Michael, the two very talented and friendly owners, insisted upon. Why do they apologise for not having a lift when the eager and friendly porter whisks the luggage to your room without any fuss? All those who appreciate the finer things in life, please form an orderly queue.

Prior to your arrival, someone from The Oriental will call you to find out more about you, just as your friend would, whether your stay with them is a special occasion, holiday, or if your visit to The Oriental is for an important business meeting, to ensure that they meet with all your expectations and perhaps a little more. The Oriental's shabby chic luxury rooms all feature en suite walk-in showers whilst the large superior rooms will pamper your senses, and they are decorated in a retro romantic style with oriental influences featuring en suite spa baths and showers.  All rooms have LCD TVs and DVD players with Freeview, WiFi and desk space and luxurious oriental silk headboards. With the exception of the obvious style and comfort here at The Oriental, the real brief is good old-fashioned customer service with a smile from Catherine and her hand-picked friendly team of staff who are all class acts.

Wow - this hotel really rocks. Once described as where Freddie Mercury might have met the Maharishi, this amazing hotel is exhilarating and sexy. Imagine state-of-the-art technology combined with the spiritual and serene principles of feng shui. The unique ethos of myhotel is that each guest is treated as an individual and prior to arrival is given a "mypreferences form" which allows you to choose from the kind of in-room music to still or sparkling water.
